Short Biography

Lonnie, native to the Northwest, currently resides in West Seattle. He is popular throughout the Northwest as a touring musician and has been a staple in the Seattle music scene for many years. He has finally taken the time to compose and record his original music and the jazz scene is richer for it. Lonnie is excited to share his debut commercial CD About the Day with his Northwest audiences and beyond.

Lonnie received his Master’s Degree in Music Performance from the New England Conservatory where he studied under guitar greats, Gene Bertoncini and Jack Wilkins. He has played in festivals, clubs and concert halls across the US such as


    • Walnut Creek Center for the Performing Arts,
    • Tahoe Music Festival,
    • West Fest, West Seattle,
    • Monterey High School Jazz Festival, and
    • many venues while touring Japan.
 

Lonnie has lead many ensembles and bands with a variety of styles including jazz, swing, rock, blues, and classical. He has played with many renowned artists including Bobby Shew, Roger Fischer, and Pete Christlieb, as well as performed as the opening act for Maynard Ferguson. In addition, he has been a composer/arranger for Sunhawk Music, the 25th Army Band and short film scores.

Most recently he has contracted with Jazzman’s Cafe’s and the Retail Brand Group to compose jazz music to be played and purchased in the restaurants. His About the Day CD is his first toward this venture. He is currently the music director for the Seattle Central Jazz Orchestra and the Federal Way Symphony Swing Band, while continuing to perform throughout the Northwest.
